STAGE IV - Water Emergency

When the district's water supply is in a Water Emergency condition,

A.
Water shall not leave the property for which a meter has been issued by draining onto the adjacent properties or public or private roadways due to irrigation or failure to correct known leaks.

B.
Lawn watering and landscaping irrigation are prohibited.

C.
Watering of parks, school grounds, or golf courses is prohibited unless done with reclaimed water only, except for plant materials classified to be rare or essential to the well being of rare animals.

D.
Water shall not be used to wash down sidewalks, streets, driveways, parking areas, tennis courts, patios or other paved areas, except to alleviate immediate fire or sanitation hazards. Upon direction of a public agency having jurisdiction over streets, arrangements may be made with the district to allow for the use of water for purposes of eliminating a safety hazard.

E.
Washing of vehicles shall be done only at commercial establishments using recycled or reclaimed water only.

Such washings are exempted from these regulations where the health, safety and welfare of the public is contingent upon frequent vehicle cleaning such as garbage trucks and vehicles used to transport food and perishables.

F.
Restaurants shall not serve water to customers unless specifically requested and then only in disposable cups.

G.
Filling or refilling of swimming pools, spas, ponds, or artificial lakes is prohibited.

H.
Operation of any ornamental fountain or similar structure is prohibited.

I.
District will not issue new construction meters.

J.
All construction meters shall be turned off and locked.

K.
Agricultural customers and commercial nurseries shall stop all irrigation and watering. Watering livestock shall be permitted any time.

L.
All leaks shall be repaired within 24 hours of notification by the district.
